PHOENIX (AZFamily) - It's the end of an era for a beloved sandwich shop that's been serving up tasty lunches in central Phoenix since 1949. The family-owned business Cheese n Stuff is closing at the end of the month.

The neighborhood hot spot has attracted customers from around the state for almost seven decades. From the big menu on the wall to the old family photos, there's nothing fancy about the neighborhood deli, but that's all part of the charm that keeps customers coming back.

"It's nice to have a family feel when you walk in and everybody smiles at you and recognizes you," said customer Megan Ottosen. "That's something you don't get at say, Jersey Mikes."

Cheese n Stuff started out as a small, family-owned cheese shop on Central Avenue, just north of Camelback Road in Phoenix.
